🌿 Courgette Craze & Tiny Pumpkins: A Fruitful Week on the Plot

Three weeks on from planting out the courgettes and pumpkins, the allotment has well and truly kicked into gear — and we’ve got the harvest to prove it!

The courgette plants have been incredibly productive, with 12 courgettes picked in just the last week alone. They’re thriving in the compost-rich soil, and their steady stream of fruit shows no sign of slowing down.

We’re also thrilled to report the arrival of two small pumpkins — the first signs of what we hope will be a bumper autumn crop. We’ve since added a few more pumpkin plants to the bed to keep the patch full and flourishing.

🫘 Runner Beans Planted Out
We’ve now planted out the remaining runner beans, giving them plenty of room and support to start their upward climb. With warm weather and regular watering, they’re already off to a strong start.

🍓 Strawberry Joy
One of the real highlights lately has been the strawberries. They’ve been super productive, and the kids have absolutely loved picking them while we’ve been up on the plot — a perfect summer treat straight from the plant.

Everything seems to be growing at lightning speed at the moment, and the plot is buzzing with life. We’ll be keeping a close eye on the pumpkins as they develop and look forward to even more courgette and bean harvests in the weeks ahead.
