🌻 Giant Sunflowers & Little Helping Hands

There’s something about planting sunflowers that always feels a bit magical — maybe it’s the way they follow the sun, or how they grow taller than us before we know it. This week, we planted out our giant sunflowers up at the allotment, and I had a very special helper by my side: Elliot.

Together, we gently eased the young plants into their new home and gave them a helping hand onto their canes to keep them upright and strong. It’s a small gesture, but it gives them the best possible start — and it’s become a lovely little ritual we share as we work side by side on the plot.

🌻 A Family Favourite
We’ve loved sunflowers for years — they’ve become a bit of a family tradition. For the past two summers, we’ve taken a trip to Barlow Sunflowers, wandering through their golden fields and soaking up the late summer sunshine. There’s something magical about being surrounded by so many bright, towering blooms.

This year, we’re hoping to recreate a little slice of that magic up on our own plot. It might not be a field of thousands, but even a small row of sunflowers brings a bit of wonder — and knowing we planted them ourselves makes it even more special.

We’ll be keeping an eye on them as they stretch upwards, and we can’t wait to see their sunny faces turn to the sky.
